Hallo, darf ich mich vorstellen?

Mein Name ist Silja.

Ich liebe es einfach, schöne Dinge zu erschaffen.

Ich bin freie Illustratorin aus Köln. Meine kleine große Mission ist es, Illustrationen zu erschaffen, die Leuten ein gutes Gefühl geben oder sie sogar zum Lächeln bringen.

I live and love life in Cologne, one of the major cities of Germany, with my husband and our three incredibly sweet children.

Wenn du mich fragen würdest, welche Technik ich bevorzuge: digital oder analog zu zeichnen, ich könnte nicht entscheiden. Während digitales Zeichnen eine großartige Flexibilität und Geschwindigkeit bietet, hat das Arbeiten mit Pinseln auf echtem Papier, mit seiner Struktur und das Mischen der Farben seinen ganz eigenen Reiz. Ich liebe beides! Mein Atelier befindet sich in der Kölner Südstadt, einem sehr lebhaften, bunten Veedel. Ich liebe diesen Charakter!

Da meine Familie und ich nahezu komplett vegan ernähren und versuchen, immer mehr Nachhaltigkeit zu leben, sind dies Themen, die mich besonders bewegen und ich andere Leute gerne inspirieren möchte. 

My studio is located in the city centre of Cologne – one of the major cities of Germany. I love the urban flair, its liveliness and character.

I am a badass optimist. I believe in a positive mindset and the possibility to steer one’s own attitude actively. Therefore, anything from affirmations, meditation, yoga and other mindful practices and routines excite me.

Originally I am from the very North of Germany. We call it a “Nordlicht” (a “north light”). During my studies in Germany, I went to study abroad in the U.S. and in Argentina, and also spent some time in London and Barcelona. Therefore, besides my mother tongue German, I speak English and Spanish fluently and love to get in touch with creatives from allover the world.
